Step On Me, Your Majesty!: 5th Prince’s Kink Chronicles
About
They think power makes women safe.
Kaelani Amara Adebayo is a queen with wealth, titles, and an entire empire behind her name. She is also a political hostage dressed in silk, surrounded by men who smile while deciding what parts of her body, labor, and future they believe they are entitled to claim.
Step On Me, Your Majesty! is a dark fantasy romance that is loud, vulgar, and ferociously funny on the surface, but razor-sharp underneath. It is a story about what happens when a woman’s consent is treated as optional, even when she holds power. About sexual politics, political ownership, and the quiet damage left behind when abuse is normalized as privilege.
Yes, there is an obsessive prince whose devotion borders on unhinged. Yes, the desire is explicit, intense, and dangerous. But this is also a story about survival, rage, autonomy, and a woman who refuses to let her trauma be rewritten as romance or obedience.
Think The Princess Bride, but the princess fights back, the prince is unwell in the best way, and the fairytale has teeth.
Praise for this book
This book is for anyone looking to have a good time with a bit of chaos.
I loved how unhinged Kaelani and Nicolae (the main characters) are, they had me laughing so hard and rooting for their brand of crazy. This was a perfect balance of fun, unhinged chaos and important messaging around fair treatment of people. This is spicy, feminist driven fun that is so fun to read. These characters and this world was a joy to get to know.
Kaelani is reborn into royalty where she has become the Queen of a fallen nation, living in an ally kingdom as the King's ward. As former friends to her parents, when Kaelani's kingdom was attacked and her parents were murdered, King Hanz took her in. In this foreign kingdom, she finds friendship with the princes and princesses and enjoys having a good time, while not letting anyone forget that she is a Queen.
Nicolae is the fifth born prince so there is no chance to ever rule his kingdom but has found a place on the battlefield, protecting Queen Kaelani's lands and trying to bring peace. When he comes back from the war, his childhood crush on the Queen has not gone away...it's become an obsession.
When both of their futures are taken out of their control, they will each need to learn how to rely on those around them to have the future they choose and provide a better future for both of their kingdoms.
This was a very fun and entertaining read!
A modern literary take on The Princess Bride, with a confident Queen, a quirky King, and a colorful cast of characters.
If, fellow reader, you’re looking for a read that is outside your regular, tame everyday, I would try reading this.
This book was honestly wild in the best way. Super raunchy, bold, and a little unhinged, but I had so much fun reading it. I really loved Kaelani and how strong she was through everything. It’s definitely intense and not for everyone, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Fun, hilarious, spicy, and thought provoking. Must I say more? This book is amazing and I loved it. Maybe a little too "left wing" for people concerned about that but let's be honest if you're reading this book thats not a concern is it?
Strong female lead who is unapologetically herself. I had no clue what to expect but it starts off with the main character about to die but gets another chance at life. The book is written in a colloquial tone with a sassy voice that matches the main character’s personality. Unique, different, and funny!

This was the perfect read in anticipation of international women’s day; it captured the struggle that many women have trying to dance to two different songs at the same time.
Entertaining but underneath it also has some very real lessons about reclaiming your autonomy as a woman.
